Chandigarh’s cuisine is mainly the Punjabi food which consists of wheat-based rotis, paranthas and naan. Butter,cream, ghee and cheese are extensively used and the meals consist of pulses cooked on a slow flame with the traditional Punjabi tadka.Gravy is prepared by using a mixture of onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and spices and is prepared in the earthen tandoors, which give the food a unique aroma. Punjab-di-Lassi truly deserves the mention in the category of beverages.
